How to Use the Gorenje WA 583 Washing Machine
The Gorenje WA 583 is a washing machine designed for household use. It offers modern laundry care, saving water, electricity and detergent. Before using it for the first time, you need to remove the transport protection and connect it to the water and electricity supply. In this article, we will explain how to do that and how to operate the machine properly.
Removing the Transport Protection
The transport protection is a set of bolts and brackets that secure the drum and other parts of the machine during transportation. If you do not remove them before using the machine, you may cause serious damage that is not covered by the warranty. To remove the transport protection, follow these steps:

Unplug the machine from the power outlet.
Remove the back panel of the machine by unscrewing four screws.
Locate the four transport bolts on the back of the drum. They are marked with red stickers.
Use a wrench to unscrew them and pull them out.
Remove the plastic spacers and rubber washers from the holes.
Plug the holes with the plastic caps provided in the accessory bag.
Replace the back panel and screw it back on.
Connecting the Machine to Water and Electricity
The machine needs to be connected to a cold water supply and a grounded power outlet. To connect it, follow these steps:
Attach the inlet hose to the water tap. Make sure it is tight and does not leak.
Attach the other end of the inlet hose to the valve on the back of the machine. Make sure it is tight and does not leak.
Place the drain hose in a sink or a drain pipe. Make sure it does not touch or dip into the water.
Plug the power cord into a grounded power outlet. Do not use an extension cord or an adapter.
Selecting and Starting a Program
The machine has 13 programs for different types of fabrics and levels of dirtiness. You can select a program by turning the program selector knob on the control panel. You can also adjust the temperature, spin speed and additional options by pressing the corresponding buttons. To select and start a program, follow these steps:
Open the door and load your laundry into the drum. Do not overload or underload the machine. Refer to the table of programs in the user manual for recommended load sizes.
Close the door firmly until you hear a click.
Add detergent and fabric softener to their respective compartments in the detergent drawer. Do not exceed the maximum level marks. Use only detergents and softeners suitable for machine washing.
Select a program by turning the program selector knob. The indicator light will show which program you have selected.
Select a temperature by pressing the temperature button. The display will show which temperature you have selected.
Select a spin speed by pressing the spin speed button. The display will show which spin speed you have selected.
Select any additional options by pressing their respective buttons. The indicator lights will show which options you have selected.
Press the start/pause button to start the program. The indicator light will turn green and flash slowly. The display will show how much time is left until the end of the program.
Cancelling or Changing a Program
If you want to cancel or change a program after starting it, you need to pause it first by pressing
the start/pause button. The indicator light will turn red and flash quickly. Then, you can do one of
the following:
